About Vulvodynia

You shouldn't have to suffer in silence

Vulvodynia is chronic vulval pain — burning, stinging, rawness — that lasts three months or more with no identifiable cause. It affects an estimated 1 in 4 to 6 women at some point in their lives.

Because it has no universally agreed cause, treatment varies widely — and options are limited. Many patients find that standard approaches don't work well enough for them.

Veriona exists to connect you with a prescriber who can discuss the options available to you, including preparations from our partner pharmacy.

Questions

Common questions answered

What is hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating — far more than your body needs to control its temperature — that happens without an obvious cause. It can be constant, or set off by heat, exercise or stress, and it usually affects both sides of the body. It is more common than most people realise, affecting an estimated 1-3% of the population.
Is hyperhidrosis treatable?
Yes. No single treatment works for everyone, but the options include prescription topical treatments, oral medication and clinical procedures, and what works varies from person to person. A UK-registered prescriber can talk through the options that may be relevant to your situation and match the strength to you.
What does the assessment involve?
The assessment asks about your symptoms, medical history, current medications and general health, and takes about five minutes to complete. A UK-registered prescriber then reviews your answers and gets in touch if they need any further information.
How is my information handled?
We handle all medical information in accordance with UK GDPR and GPhC confidentiality guidelines. We never share your data with third parties without your explicit consent, and only your prescriber and our pharmacy team can see your assessment details.
Can I pause or cancel?
Yes — you can pause, adjust or cancel at any time through your account. There are no cancellation fees and no minimum commitments. If something isn't working for you, tell us first: your prescriber can often adjust the strength or the approach.
Who prescribes through Posology?
A UK-registered prescriber reviews and approves every prescription issued through Posology. Our partner pharmacy, Monderma Ltd, a GPhC-registered pharmacy based in Uxbridge, Middlesex, prepares and dispenses your treatment.
I've already tried clinical-strength antiperspirant. Why would this be different?
Antiperspirant blocks the sweat ducts, which is enough for most people but not for hyperhidrosis. A prescription treatment works further back, on the signal telling your glands to produce sweat in the first place — a different mechanism, not a stronger version of the one that already let you down. Response varies from person to person, but if the clinical-strength options have come up short, you are exactly who this is for.
How long before I notice a difference?
We start you on a low strength and build up, because the right dose is personal and we would rather find yours than guess at it. Your prescriber reviews how you are getting on and steps you up until you reach the dose that works for you. Most people who respond notice a change within a couple of weeks of reaching the right strength, though some take longer.
